SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a set of technical standards for e-learning software products. It allows different e-learning platforms and content to interact and work together, providing a universal standard for online learning content and Learning Management Systems (LMS). This makes it a valuable tool for organisations that want to create and deliver e-learning content that is portable and interoperable.
You can access our e-learning courses through our Learning Management System (LMS) platform. Once you’ve logged into your account, you can navigate to the ‘Courses’ section where you’ll find a catalog of our available courses.
Generally, our courses require just a standard web browser. For some courses, you might need specific plugins like Adobe Flash or Acrobat Reader. If a course needs additional software, it will be clearly specified in the course description.
Starting a SCORM package can vary slightly depending on the LMS you’re using. Generally, once you’re in the e learn course that contains the SCORM package, you should be able to see a ‘Start’ or ‘Launch’ button. Clicking this button will initiate the SCORM package.
Our LMS supports bookmarking. This means that you can pause a course and then pick up from where you left off the next time you log in. Please remember to use the exit course button so that your progress can be properly tracked and saved.
If you experience technical difficulties while taking a course, please reach out to our support team immediately. Provide them with as much information as possible, such as the course name, the issue encountered, any error messages, and screenshots if possible. Our team will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Benefits of using SCORM in e-learning are Interoperability, Reusability and Tracking.
SCORM is a set of technical standards for e-learning content, while xAPI is a data exchange standard. SCORM defines how e-learning content is packaged and delivered, while xAPI defines how data about learner progress is exchanged between different systems.
SCORM and AICC are both standards for e-learning content. However, there are some key differences between the two standards.
SCORM is a more recent standard that was developed specifically for e-learning. AICC is an older standard that was developed for the aviation industry.
