Uttar Pradesh Khadi Village Industries Board will provide employment to 1.45 lakh people, target to be met in next seven months

 The Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board has set a target of providing employment opportunities to 1 lakh 45 thousand 528 people in the next seven months through 12 schemes and programs. The Board has also laid down the timetable for effective implementation of these plans and programs, while setting out the outline to conduct them prominently.

Principal Secretary Khadi and Village Industries Dr. Navneet Sehgal informed that arrangements have been made to make Chief Minister Mati Kala program more effective. A target has been set to establish 2700 micro-Matsi Kala Common Facility Centers in nine mandals of the state. These centers will provide employment opportunities to 10,500 people. With the establishment of 2572 units under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program, 20,576 people will be linked with employment. The target is to set up 800 units under the Chief Minister’s Village Industries Employment Scheme, in which 16,000 people will get employment opportunities.

Dr. Navneet Sehgal said that under the Solar Charkha Distribution and Training Program, a target has been set to train one thousand persons. Through Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Khadi Marketing Assistance Program, employment opportunities will be made available to 50 thousand people. Principal Secretary informed that along with giving tool kits to the 12 hundred people who want to set up self-employment under the tool kit scheme, they will also be given training.

Dr. Navneet Sehgal informed that a provision has been made to train 300 beneficiaries under the Honey Mission in Uttar Pradesh. 300 additional people will be given employment opportunities by increasing the capacity of the blanket factories operating in the state. All the formalities to start operation of hand paper center in Kalpi of Jalaun have been completed from June. This center will provide a large number of employment opportunities. He informed that Khadi production centers are being strengthened to provide employment opportunities to 3075 youths / women in the state. Also, 42,497 people will be linked with self-employment by training in various other trades.
